The TOUGHBOOK 40 processor has up to 16 CPU cores, 8 GPU cores, and a NPU which is a dedicated artificial intelligence (AI) engine. The processor intelligently picks which to use for an AI task depending on the type and complexity. It performs up to 97 overall peak TOPS, which can be further boosted when equipped with a 8GB dGPU that can perform up to 34.5 overall peak TOPS.

The TOUGHBOOK 40 features eight user-upgradeable expansion areas including the battery, memory, storage, keyboard and four expansion areas. The expansion area features several different types of xPAK’s including a barcode reader, optical drives, authentication readers, additional I/O, batteries and storage. All of the options in the eight modular areas provide 10,560 combinations to choose from. This unparalleled customization enables organizations to help futureproof, simplify ordering, shorten lead times and decrease downtime.
