The 14” fully-rugged Panasonic TOUGHBOOK 40 offers unrivaled flexibility in even the most demanding and unpredictable environments with its class-leading eight modular areas including its innovative modular expansion packs (xPAK’s). Optical drives, authentication readers, IO ports and even the Barcode Reader xPAK are all user-upgradeable. Its state-of-the-art design optimizes thermals for maximum performance and its latest technology will ensure the TOUGHBOOK 40 will withstand the test of time. It is the first TOUGHBOOK PC featuring an Intel processor with dedicated NPU to optimize AI performance. It also has an optional dedicated GPU, up to 64GB of RAM, up to 4TB of storage, all-day battery life, four microphones, color-selectable backlit keyboard, 95dB speakers, and choice of two cellular modems. The 4G modem provides up to 2Gbps and the 5G modem adds support of 5G Sub6 with speeds up to 4.1Gbps. Class Leading 8 Modular Areas

The TOUGHBOOK 40 features eight user-upgradeable expansion areas including the battery, memory, storage, keyboard and four expansion areas. The expansion area features several different types of xPAK’s including a barcode reader, optical drives, authentication readers, additional I/O, batteries and storage. All of the options in the eight modular areas provide 9,600 combinations to choose from. This unparalleled customization enables organizations to help futureproof, simplify ordering, shorten lead times and decrease downtime.

Choice of 4G or 5G Modem

The 4G modem supports LTE, LTE-A and speeds up to 2 Gbps. The 5G modem supports 4G (LTE, LTE-A) as well as 5G (Sub6) and speeds up to 4.1 Gbps. It seamlessly connects to the best available network without any disruption or intervention by the user. Both 4G and 5G modems support FirstNet Ready™ (band 14), CBRS Private LTE (band 48) and have dual SIM (physical SIM + eSIM) for maximum flexibility.

With the increased use of video conferencing – whether for telehealth or remote services – the TOUGHBOOK 40 boasts the first 5MP webcam in its class. It features a privacy cover for security and infrared capability to support Windows Hello facial recognition.
